card tutorial tuesday!

Rub On Card Tutorial.
By: Renee Ybarra

If you are like me I have a few rub on's laying around and I never know what to use them on. So I tried them on a card.
Choose your Rub on's, coordinating paper and a few embelishments.
Cut card mattes down to size and ink edges if desired.
Apply chosen Rub on's to white cardstock and trim.
Next using an edge punch trim a small piece of coordinating paper.
I then attached a coordinating ribbon using my Tombow Adhesive.
Now it's time to put your layers together and attach the Rub on's with a few coordinating brads. And now you have your completed card.

thanks so much for the sweet card tutorial renee!!!

tutorial thurday....

good morning ladies! Do you want to learn to make a mini out of stuff on hand? perfect! all you'll need extra is some little paper bags. the kind used for lunches.
the rest Im sure you already have on hand,
ribbon,hole punch,glue,scissors,paper,embellishments.
this is fun and interesting sort of mini! it will leave with pages to scrap on and pockets to fill!
lets get started!
1~gather supplies
2~ grab a bag to start with, this will now turn into bag 1. place bag bottom side up and shown in the pic. make a fold in the bag as shown by foldin the right side over the left. this should leave you with a 4 1/2 in right side.
3~ repeat for bag 2. only this thime you want your right side to be 4in.
4~ for bag #3 we will start with the bag facing the opposite way. place the end of the bag on the right.
you will crease the same way and the right page should now be 6 1/2 in.
5~when assembling the bags will go as follow. lay down 1, then 2 on top the 3. all laid down the same way as when you folded them.
6~ this is how will appear assembled and open.
7~I also wanted to mention the bottoms of the bags.
I choose to make these into pages, but that is completly up to you. you cover the paper onto your bag in any manner you choose. should you decide to make them into pages it will appear like this.
8~now that you know how your book is going to go, lets start adding paper.
continue adding paper till your done. (remember to keep the pages in order)
9~once this is complete. punch two holes, making sure you are going thru all the pages. then thread ribbon and tie.
10~you are now free to embellish your mini in any way you desire! dont forget to add stuff to the fun pockets inside!!!

I hope you all enjoy this easy mini made with stuff on hand! please share pics if you make this! we would love to see your interpretations!

show us your scrap space

with MARLENE!!!!!

Hi everyone! I’m so excited to share my scrap space with all of you. We don’t have a ton of extra space in my house, so my scrap space is in my bedroom. Now I would love to have a whole room just for scrapping but I’m so grateful to at least have a nice little space to scrap and create.
This is my desk which I love so much. The black cubbyhole thing on top of my desk is actually a very small bookcase which I turned on its side. I have all my paints, inks, glitter and all that good stuff. The large sunflower tin on top of that is used as a little garbage can for my scraps. I covered my desk with a plastic tablecloth to protect it and I also have a Bazzil splat mat which is great when gluing and painting. Since I have a laptop, the pull out draw that is suppose to hold a keyboard holds all my border punches. Underneath I have a crate with all my papers.
This is my little message board center next to my desk. The little bookcase holds my printer, mini books, etc. I have a lot of beautiful items that I have received from many swaps over the years. My most recent find is this tree branch which I bought at Home Goods. I was looking for something cool to display my ATC’s on and this was just perfect.
I also wanted to share a picture of my closet door to show you my other ATC display. I just wrapped some twine around the whole door and attached the cards with little clothes pins.
And finally these are my storage bins. They are two 3-tier plastic bins, once stacked on top of the other. Each draw holds certain items, like alpha stickers, flowers, chipboard, etc. I decided to turn them to the side but it was so messy looking with the clear bins. I had some wood grain contact paper lying around and I decided to cover the sides of the bins with it. I love the way it turned out and it’s so much neater looking. On top of that is my black caddy which holds all my stamps.
Thanks so much for taking a peek into my scrappy world. I hope this maybe gives you some little ideas and inspiration for your scrap space!

Hugs, Marlene

we hope you all have a fabulous weekend, stay tuned next week for more great stuff from us!!!
